What this medicine is for

Migraitan 50mg Tablets are used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks in adults.

They contain sumatriptan succinate and are prescribed for patients with a confirmed diagnosis of migraine to help relieve symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light and sound.

Migraitan is not intended for the prevention of migraines or for other types of headache.

How it works

Sumatriptan belongs to a group of medicines called triptans.

It works by narrowing widened blood vessels in the brain and reducing inflammation thought to contribute to migraine symptoms. This helps relieve pain and associated symptoms during a migraine attack.

It is most effective when taken early at the onset of migraine symptoms.

Warnings

Not suitable for individuals with heart disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or a history of stroke.

Do not use alongside other triptans or ergotamine-based migraine medications.
