Loperamide 2mg Capsules are a treatment for the relief of sudden (acute) short-term diarrhoea in adults and adolescents.
Diarrhoea is a condition where bowel movements become frequent, loose, and watery, often causing discomfort, dehydration, and urgency.
How it works
Loperamide works by slowing down the movement of the gut (bowel).
This allows the body more time to absorb water and electrolytes from the stool, helping to restore normal stool consistency and reduce the frequency of bowel movements.

Dosage guidance

Warnings
Do not use loperamide if you have severe diarrhoea with blood, high fever, or suspected infection requiring medical treatment.
Not suitable for children under 12 years without medical advice.
Use with caution if you have liver disease or ongoing bowel conditions.
