Ciprofloxacin 500mg Tablets are a prescription fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a range of bacterial infections, particularly where other antibiotics may not be suitable.
These may include urinary tract infections (UTIs), chest infections, sinus infections, prostatitis, and certain gastrointestinal infections such as traveller’s diarrhoea.
Bacterial infections occur when harmful bacteria multiply in the body and cause symptoms such as pain, fever, inflammation, or discomfort depending on the area affected.
How it works
Ciprofloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA replication, which prevents bacteria from multiplying and leads to their destruction.
This helps the body’s immune system clear the infection effectively.
