Description
Utovlan 5mg Tablets are a branded form of norethisterone, a synthetic hormone similar to progesterone. They are widely prescribed to delay menstrual bleeding for personal, religious, or professional reasons.
Whether you’re planning a holiday, special event, or competition, Utovlan allows you to manage your cycle by safely postponing your period for up to 17 days.
Benefits:
-
Postpones your period with predictable results
-
Simple oral tablet form, easy to use
-
Ideal for short-term use to manage your cycle
-
Also used to treat heavy or irregular periods, endometriosis, or premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
How It Works:
Utovlan (norethisterone) maintains high levels of progesterone in your body, which prevents the lining of the womb from shedding. Once you stop taking the tablets, hormone levels fall and your period starts — usually within 2 to 3 days.
Directions for Use:
-
Start taking one tablet (5mg) three times daily, 3 days before your period is due
-
Continue taking for up to 17 days as prescribed
-
Your period should resume 2–3 days after stopping the medication
-
Always follow your doctor or prescriber’s guidance
Important Information:
-
Not a contraceptive – does not prevent pregnancy
-
Do not take if you are pregnant or breastfeeding unless advised
-
Avoid if you have a history of blood clots, liver disease, or breast cancer
-
Inform your doctor of all medications you’re taking, especially for epilepsy, infections, or seizures
Possible Side Effects:
-

-
Less common: mood changes, breakthrough bleeding
-
