Description
EllaOne Emergency Contraceptive Pill contains 30mg of ulipristal acetate, a selective progesterone receptor modulator used to prevent pregnancy after unprotected sexual intercourse or contraceptive failure.
Unlike levonorgestrel-based emergency contraception, EllaOne can be taken up to 120 hours (5 days) after unprotected sex, making it one of the most effective options available for emergency contraception.
EllaOne works primarily by delaying or inhibiting ovulation, preventing the release of an egg for fertilisation. It is not an abortion pill and will not affect an established pregnancy.
